SOVICE Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 4 September 2026

These Terms & Conditions set out the rules for using Sovice.app and participating in SOVICE.

In these Terms, references to "SOVICE", "we", "us" or "our" refer to the operator of the SOVICE service.

By registering for and participating in SOVICE, you agree to follow these Terms and the SOVICE Player Guide.

1. About SOVICE

SOVICE is a free-to-play entertainment game in which players build and manage a fictional music label using artist popularity data, including Spotify monthly listener figures.

Players receive fictional SOVICE funds, represented using Ф, which can be allocated to eligible artists as fictional "signings". The value of a signing may rise or fall as the artist's tracked monthly listener figure changes.

References to a player's "label", "roster", "signing" or "release" describe gameplay only. They do not create or represent any real-world record label, artist contract, ownership interest, agency relationship, endorsement or other legal or commercial relationship with an artist or third party.

SOVICE is not a financial trading platform, investment service or gambling service.

No real money, cryptocurrency or other item of monetary value is required to participate.

SOVICE funds:

  • have no real-world monetary value;
  • cannot be purchased with real money;
  • cannot be withdrawn or exchanged for real money or cryptocurrency;
  • cannot be transferred or sold to another player; and
  • do not represent ownership of an artist, company, security, financial instrument or any other real-world asset.

SOVICE does not currently award cash or cash-equivalent prizes.

2. Age Requirement

You must be aged 16 or over to register for and participate in SOVICE.

By registering, you confirm that you are at least 16 years old.

SOVICE is not intended for anyone under the age of 16. If we become aware that someone under 16 has registered, we may end their participation and delete or anonymise their personal information where appropriate.

Players aged 16 or 17 are welcome to participate, subject to the same gameplay and fair-play rules as other players.

3. Registration

Registration is completed through Sovice.app.

You must provide accurate information and must not deliberately misrepresent your age or identity.

You should only provide information that is reasonably necessary for registration and communication with SOVICE.

SOVICE does not currently operate traditional website user accounts. After registration, administration of your label may take place manually through your agreed contact method.

Approved contact methods may include:

  • Instagram
  • TikTok
  • Facebook
  • X (Twitter)
  • Reddit
  • Discord

You are responsible for ensuring that instructions sent to SOVICE are sufficiently clear.

We may ask you to clarify an instruction where the artist, allocation amount, whether you wish to sign or release the artist, or other necessary information is unclear.

4. Starting SOVICE

Each new player receives Ф100,000 in fictional SOVICE funds.

Players can use these funds as their starting budget to build a roster by signing eligible artists.

Detailed rules covering signing allocations, signing and release dates, calculations, Label Values, data timing and other gameplay mechanics are contained in the current SOVICE Player Guide.

The Player Guide forms part of the rules of SOVICE.

5. Signing and Release Instructions

Signing and release requests must be sent through an approved communication method and must contain the information required under the Player Guide.

Where a valid request is received, its applicable date will be determined under the rules in the Player Guide rather than by the time at which SOVICE replies or confirms the signing or release.

Because SOVICE is initially administered manually, confirmation may not always be immediate.

6. Label Records and Reports

SOVICE maintains records of player balances, active and released signings and Label Values.

Players may request information about their label through their agreed contact method.

SOVICE may also provide scheduled or ad hoc label reports where requested.

A delay in receiving a confirmation or label report does not by itself alter an otherwise valid signing or release request or its applicable date.

7. Artist and Listener Data

SOVICE relies on third-party music and audience data.

We aim to maintain accurate and consistent records but cannot guarantee that third-party data will always be available, complete or error-free.

If data is missing, delayed, duplicated, subsequently corrected or appears to contain an obvious error, SOVICE may reasonably:

  • delay the processing or valuation of an affected signing or release;
  • use the next reliable available observation;
  • correct an affected calculation or Label Value;
  • disregard an obviously erroneous observation; or
  • take another reasonable step necessary to maintain fair and consistent gameplay.

Where practical, affected players will be informed of significant adjustments.

8. Administrative and Calculation Errors

SOVICE may correct genuine administrative, transcription, data or calculation errors.

For example, if a player requests a Ф10,000 signing allocation and it is accidentally recorded as Ф100,000, the record may be corrected to reflect the original valid instruction.

Corrections are intended to restore the result that would have occurred had the game rules been followed correctly rather than retrospectively changing legitimate outcomes.

9. Leaderboard

SOVICE may display player performance through a public leaderboard.

This may include:

  • your chosen username or display name;
  • Label Value;
  • ranking; and
  • relevant game-performance statistics.

Private contact information such as your personal email address, phone number or direct-message details will not intentionally be displayed on the public leaderboard.

The Player Guide explains how leaderboard values and rankings are calculated.

10. Fair Play and Behaviour

You must not:

  • deliberately exploit bugs or unintended behaviour;
  • create multiple registrations to gain an unfair advantage;
  • impersonate another person;
  • deliberately misrepresent your age;
  • interfere with SOVICE systems or data;
  • submit abusive or deliberately disruptive requests;
  • knowingly provide false gameplay information;
  • attempt to manipulate SOVICE records;
  • harass SOVICE administrators or other players; or
  • use SOVICE communication channels for inappropriate or unlawful behaviour.

We may correct affected results or suspend or remove a player where reasonably necessary to maintain fair play or protect other players.

11. Communication and Safety

Players should not send SOVICE sensitive personal information that is not required to participate in the game.

SOVICE will not ask players to provide financial information, payment-card information, cryptocurrency credentials or similar financial details in order to play.

Communication between SOVICE and players should relate to SOVICE registration, gameplay, label administration, support or other legitimate SOVICE activities.

12. Changes to SOVICE

SOVICE is an evolving game and its features and rules may change over time.

We may change matters including:

  • artists included in the game;
  • starting balances;
  • signing or allocation limits;
  • calculations;
  • signing and release rules;
  • data sources;
  • leaderboard methodology;
  • communication methods; and
  • website features.

Where a change materially affects gameplay, we will aim to publish the updated rules before the change applies.

Completed gameplay actions will not ordinarily be retrospectively changed simply because the rules later change.

This does not prevent SOVICE from correcting genuine errors or dealing with unreliable third-party data.

13. Availability

We aim to keep SOVICE available and operating reliably but cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability.

We may temporarily suspend or permanently discontinue SOVICE, individual features or particular artists where reasonably necessary.

Because SOVICE funds are entirely fictional and have no monetary value, unused balances and Label Values do not create an entitlement to payment or compensation if SOVICE is suspended or discontinued.

14. Intellectual Property

The SOVICE name, branding, website design, original graphics and original website content are owned by SOVICE or used with permission.

Spotify and the names, trademarks, imagery and other intellectual property of artists, labels and other third parties belong to their respective owners.

SOVICE is an independent project and is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by Spotify or any artist unless expressly stated otherwise.

15. Responsibility and Liability

SOVICE is provided for entertainment.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any responsibility that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

Subject to this, SOVICE funds, signing values and Label Values are fictional and do not represent real-world financial assets or losses.

16. Ending Participation

You may stop participating in SOVICE at any time by contacting us.

You may also request removal or anonymisation of your public leaderboard identity, subject to records we reasonably need to retain for legal, security, administrative or dispute-resolution purposes.

We may end a player's participation where reasonably necessary under these Terms.

17. Privacy

Our collection and use of personal information is explained in the SOVICE Privacy Policy.

Special care is taken with personal information relating to players aged 16 or 17.

18. Changes to These Terms

These Terms may be updated as SOVICE develops.

The latest version will always be available on Sovice.app.

Where a significant change affects existing players, we will take reasonable steps to make that change clear.

19. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

Nothing in these Terms removes any rights that apply to you under applicable law.

20. Operator and Contact

SOVICE is operated independently under the SOVICE name. Details for the individuals responsible for operating SOVICE are provided in the SOVICE Privacy Policy.
